How to Take An Effective Mental Health Day 

What does your body need?

You wake up feeling sub par, maybe its the second or the fifth day in a row you wake up feeling exhausted and emotional. The tears feel close to the surface as though if someone asked you “how ARE you?” you might just burst into tears. This is the perfect day to take as a mental health day, self care day, wellbeing day; whatever it is called at your workplace these days are made for this. If we tune into ourselves whilst laying in bed and ask ourselves “what does my body need from me” or “what is my body telling me” you will get your answer quickly. Pay attention to the answer. Is it REST? Or is it TIME IN NATURE? Or TIME WITH SELF? Or something else? Do you feel the deep yearning to go sit by the ocean and star out to sea, or to go for a jog with the fresh air running through you hair? Maybe you need a long soak in the bath or to create something? Plant something? Dance? Yoga? Meditate? Slow breath? There is so many possibililites and your body will tell you, I promise. You just need to be quiet enough to hear it, and wait or the answer.
